VNG Peaking Operation Supervisor
Assists in maintaining VNG Propane Peak Shaving Plants and Compressor Stations to ensure the equipment is functional on peak days during winter months to support system supply.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES BY COMPETENCY
Must possess the in-depth knowledge of operational, maintenance and regulatory policies and procedures needed to support VNG Peaking Operations.
Must possess the skills required to understand, develop, and recommend corrective measures to the processes and equipment ensuring facility(s) obligations are continually met. Must possess knowledge on the fundamentals of gas theory and the relationship of gas flow and pressure and how it relates to the operational and mechanical aspects of the facility(s). Must possess the skills required to analyze, recommend, and initiate corrective measures when equipment or system malfunctions occur.
Ensure High Quality Safety Culture and High Level of Safety Performance.
Ensure educational development of VNG Peaking personnel by instructing in the techniques of operation, maintenance and repair of propane and compressor equipment.
Coordinate the delivery of propane to ensure appropriate distribution to various sites in the Chesapeake, and Pivotal Propane Plants.
Manage maintenance schedule developed in DataStream 7i to ensure equipment preventive maintenance completed as scheduled at VNG Peaking Facilities.
Must possess the ability to plan, organize and monitor construction, operations and maintenance activities at VNG Peaking Facilities and ensure such activities are completed within a time frame not detrimental to the successful operation of the facility(s). Must have a good understanding of the operational and maintenance activities required at VNG Peaking Facilities ensuring timely completion of projects.
Must be a motivated and analytical individual capable of anticipating problems, developing solutions, and recommending innovative ideas and procedures. Must have ability to apply knowledge on a technical and conceptual level in order to achieve facilities’ operational goals and objectives. Must possess the ability to remain calm in stressful and/or emergency situations in order to make logical and accurate decisions to maintain facility integrity and employee safety.
Must communicate effectively, both written and verbal, resulting in the effective transfer of information.
Develop teamwork through good interpersonal skills. Must have strong work ethic. Must possess knowledge of Company operating policies, procedures, and practices.
Coordinate contractual work to be performed at VNG Peaking facilities.
Promotes operational efficiencies, productivity enhancements and efficient utilization of resources to assist in providing cost effective operation of VNG Peaking Operations.
Ensures process and system changes are implemented as necessary to meet operational requirements and/or comply with regulations (existing or new).
Assist with compliance in standards, regulations, company procedures ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate and maintained appropriately.
- High School Diploma or GED
Related Work Experience:
This position requires one year equivalent of technical training in industrial machinery operation and 3-5 years of progressive facility work experience. Prior experience in operations normally acquired through at least three years as a Propane Operator and/or Mechanic. Must have the knowledge of plant operational procedures along with the ability to utilize plant manuals and schematics in troubleshooting and optimizing the operational processes. Must possess the knowledge of and ability to operate computers and their related programs.
