EEP Program Manager

Description

This position is responsible for developing and implementing commercial and industrial energy efficiency strategies to ensure that the gas savings requirements of the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program are met. Specifically, this role will define, develop, and implement strategies to help utility customers identify opportunities and build capabilities in energy efficiency and sustainable energy portfolios. Key responsibilities include oversight and management of C&I program implementation contractors; effective development and management of the Strategic Energy Management (SEM) and Combined Heat and Power (CHP) programs; development and implementation of marketing plans to drive customer participation in various energy efficient programs; and development, implementation and oversight of program policies and business processes. This role works closely with our internal Customer Solutions, Economic Development and Energy Efficiency teams, as well as with other utilities/entities for jointly coordinated/implemented energy efficiency programs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)

Required:

•Bachelor’s Degree – business, environmental science, or related discipline -or- 6 years of related work in the energy industry or military experience

Preferred:

•Experience with developing and implementing energy efficiency and sustainability portfolio strategies

•Experience with Strategic Energy Management and Combined Heat and Power energy efficiency programs

•Demonstrated experience with budgets and making budgetary decisions; strong analytical, project management, facilitation, and communication skills

•Ability to work in a team environment with diverse disciplines and backgrounds

•Proficiency in Microsoft Office

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Responsible for developing and implementing commercial and industrial energy efficiency strategies to ensure that the gas savings requirements of the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program are met

•Responsible for oversight and management of C&I program implementation contractors

•Coordinate with groups throughout the organization to develop and implement sustainability strategies to meet customer needs; develop and deliver consistent external messaging for sustainability related requests and reports

•Define, develop, and implement strategies to help utility customers identify opportunities and build capabilities in energy efficiency and sustainable energy portfolios

•Coordinate and manage energy efficiency programs with other utilities, including contracting and management of contractors, subcontractors, and other operating logistics

•Effective development and management of the Strategic Energy Management (SEM) and Combined Heat and Power (CHP) programs

•Development and implementation of marketing plans to drive customer participation in various energy efficiency programs

•Development, implementation and oversight of program policies and business processes to ensure effective financial controls and compliance with regulatory controls

•Report on activities of implementation contractors hired to run and manage offerings within the overall energy efficiency portfolio

•Strategically partner with customer facing groups to create synergies and process improvements for our customers

•Partner with various internal teams to identify market trends and grow energy solutions opportunities

•Partner with other Energy Efficiency Program Managers to develop and implement operating plans, program budgets, and program goals for the energy efficiency portfolio

•Review and analyze program C&I forecasting, production reporting, and invoicing. Provide and update tracking mechanisms to ensure key program metrics are achieved. Deliver quarterly and annual reports per the ICC requirements, documenting program therm savings and budgetary information

•Manage program contracts and budgets to ensure compliance, accurate forecasting and savings goals are met. Develop and accurately track program budgets and performance metrics, implementation strategies, and program design utilizing data analytics

•Develop a proficiency with Nicor Gas’ Terms & Conditions and associated rates and rate tariffs
